From 01 to 05 of April, 2013 on the Digital-to-analog-to-physical complex of JSC "STC UES" the certification of AVR-2 digital excitation regulator by JSC "Energocomplekt" has been passed. The certification was carried out by "Methodology certification testing of automatic excitation regulators of synchronous generators of strong action" (Standard of JSC "SO UES", "Requirements for excitation systems and automatic excitation regulators of synchronous generators of strong action").

The tests were attended by JSC "Energocomplekt" and JSC "SO UES" representatives. 

AVR-2 regulator has already passed similar tests in 2004 and has been recommended for use in the UES of Russia, but the test program in 2004 did not include a number of tests, the performance of which is stipulated by the certification program of the referenced Standards and AVR-2 technological algorithm did not include a number of features, the presence of which was not required before the adoption of the Standard.

During this test a new algorithm for AVR-2 was tested, implementing all the functions, which an algorithm of automatic control excitation of strong action must include.

At the end of the test AVR-2 excitation regulators are recommended for use in the Russian Federation power plants (expert opinion, test report).
