Purpose of the smooth start of the EK-AV6 UPP
The EK-AV6-XX-AS-VX medium-voltage soft starter is designed for smooth non-impact acceleration and braking of high-voltage (3, 6 and 10 kV) synchronous and asynchronous drives of various mechanisms. The power part of the soft starter is implemented on thyristors, the control system is a fully digital microprocessor, thanks to which the device can be used in automated production, controlled and monitored by higher-level control systems.

Advantages
The power part of the EK-AV6-XX-AS-VX is made on counter-parallel thyristors. Thyristors are controlled through fiber optic channels, as a result of which there is no electrical connection between the control section and the high-voltage power unit. Also, with the use of optical fiber, synchronization of the moment of pulse delivery to thyristors is carried out.
The use of this technology allows you to obtain a compact finished solution with a high degree of noise immunity of the control part. The EK-AV6 soft starter offers the following benefits:
- ensuring non-impact start-up and smooth acceleration with a predetermined limitation of starting current;
- reduction of impact moments when starting the mechanism;
- implementation of several launches in a row;
- switching the motor being started to the network;
- the ability to start an unlimited number of engines from one device;
- the power of the motors being started from one soft starter can be different, the parameters of the device are changed for a specific motor being started;
- protection of the motor being started;
- the possibility of testing equipment from low voltage using a low-voltage engine;
- ease of setting parameters using a control panel with LCD;
- communication with the ACSMP via the ModBusRTU (ProfibusDP) protocol.
Composition
Structurally, the soft starter is placed in an electrical cabinet with one-way maintenance. In the cabinet there is an inlet high-voltage vacuum contactor, a power part, a control section located in its shielded compartment. On the front panel of the cabinet there are control lamps, switches, as well as a control panel with LCD, with the help of which the system parameters are entered, the coefficients are adjusted, the event log is viewed.
The cooling of the power unit is natural air. If necessary, the cabinet can be equipped with an air heater, a humidity sensor, a temperature sensor and a filter exhaust fan.
The degree of protection of the cabinet according to GOST 14254-96IP44 (IP54). The input of power and control cables is made from the bottom of the cabinet through separate hatches.
With one engine launched from the soft starter, one high-voltage cell can be involved, in this case, a high-voltage bypass contactor is located inside the cabinet. When running a soft starter with several engines, the switching of the output voltage is carried out using contactor switchgear cabinets (CCD), the number of which corresponds to the number of engines launched.
Each SCR has in its composition a high-voltage disconnector-grounder with manual drive to ensure the safe production of work on the disconnected area and a high-voltage vacuum contactor with remote control from the soft starter for switching the motor being started. The doors of the SCR and soft starter in addition to mechanical locks have electromagnetic, excluding access to the inside of the cabinet at the applied voltage.
To control the soft starter and all incoming engines, a remote control panel (RU) is used, which displays the current state of the EK-AV6 and all engines, and can also be directly or smoothly started any selected engine. The PU can be equipped with a touch panel with the ability to display the necessary parameters, adjust the start modes for each engine, oscillograph the start-up and braking processes, keep a log of events.
The company performs supervision installation, adjustment of soft starters, warranty and post-warranty service, training of service personnel, technical advice on the choice of equipment. Supply of soft starters is carried out in terms of up to 4 months from the date of conclusion of the contract and prepayment.
