On July 31, 2008 in the Federal Agency for Management of Special Economic Zones (SEZ), chaired by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation S. Voskresenskogo, was a meeting of the Expert Council for technology-innovative special economic zones.

The Expert Council for technology-innovative special economic zones was established in order to organize and conduct independent expert assessment of business plans submitted by the parties intending to obtain the status of resident SEZ of technology-innovative type.

Following the meeting of the Expert Council for technology-innovative special economic zones (SEZ) there were approved 30 projects of the business plan of organizations - potential residents of technology-innovative SEZ.
